Legal Services Plan

Regular, full-time employees are eligible for group legal coverage on the first day of employment. You can enroll as a new hire or during the fall Annual Enrollment. This plan is not subject to the qualified life event rules, so you will not be able to change your election mid-year for any reason.

The MetLife Law plan gives you and your family access to professional legal representation at an affordable price. It’s like having your own lawyer on retainer.

Attorneys are available in person, by phone or by email, and the plan includes online tools to help you do it yourself, so it’s easy to get legal help. You can choose from a network of pre-qualified attorneys or use an attorney outside of the network and be reimbursed some of the cost.

When you use a plan attorney (one of the 11,000 attorneys who are members of the MetLife Law network), the plan pays most attorney fees for covered services, with no deductibles or copays, and no claim forms. If you use an attorney who is not a member of the MetLife Law network, you will need to file a claim for reimbursement of your attorney’s fees and the benefits you receive will be based on a set fee schedule.
